4130m
MAX ALTITUDEThis trek in the Annapurna sanctuary in Nepal is one of the world’s finest treks, taking us through scenic villages, rich oak, bamboo and rhododendron forests and is a great introduction to the joys of high altitude trekking. We climb steadily through beautiful villages with neatly terraced rice fields enjoying several days of pleasant ridge-walking through a mix of abundant forest and scattered fields, with spectacular views of the majestic Annapurna range throughout.
Our journey begins in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Next morning flight to Pokhara & then drive to the road head at Phedi from where we start with a short trek to Dhampus. We stay overnight in comfortable tea houses throughout. We spend the next four days trekking upwards through a series of forested ridges with sharp descents to the rivers between them, until we reach the Machapuchare Base Camp (3700m). From here it is only a short climb further to the Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) our ultimate destination.
Please Note: Starting 2024, on all Nepal treks, you can buy your own food at tea-houses and hence it is not a part of our package. The pricing too reflects this change in offering.

A trip graded as a Moderate Trek takes you to high altitude regions - above 3000m / 10,0000ft and will involve considerable altitude gain over the course of the trek. Altitude will have an effect, hence one would need to be careful about acclimatization. Moderate treks will have multiple days which involve considerable amount of ascents and descents and would require walking for more than 6 hours. There might be a day or two of camping in relatively high altitudes above 4000m / 13,000ft. A typical trek will last around a week to ten days depending on the region and is a good step-up for people who have completed a beginner trek.
Good fitness level is very much needed to enjoy this trip. Some training up before the trip would help. Prior trekking experience is desirable.
