MAX ALTITUDEMarkha Valley is a classic Ladakh trek which offers a bit of everything - beautiful trans-Himalayan landscape, remote Ladakhi villages, some high altitude meadows and some really old monasteries. On this trek we go up to Hankar, the last village in the valley and turn back. This trek offers everything the Markha valley is known for minus the high grazing grounds. This plan is suited for family groups with children. After couple of days of acclimatisation to high altitude in Leh you will set out to explore the heartland of this central Ladakh Valley. The walk is mostly along the banks of the Markha River and also involves crossing it a few times. Kang Yatse peak (6400m) at the head of this valley dominates the skyline as we get higher up in the valley.
