This is a perfect short trek for people looking to experience trekking in the Himalayas away from crowded trails and campsites. The trek has a bit of everything – remote villages, pristine forests, rolling meadows, and expansive campsites. To top it all we also get to climb a small peak (3810m/ approx. 12500ft) which offers great views of the Bandarpunch and the Gangotri range of the Garhwal Himalaya. The walk-in general is easy with a couple of steep sections towards the end. As we get towards the top we are rewarded with some incredible views of rolling meadows having high snow-capped mountains in the background. These local shepherds bring their sheep to these meadows for grazing and that also adds to the overall experience.

We pick you up from the Dehradun airport and we drive to the first major ridge of the lower Himalayas, to the quaint town of Kanatal where we rest for the night. Overnight Hotel.
We start early from our Hotel and drive by the vast Tehri lake and past picturesque villages towards Budha Kedar and then enter the Balganga Valley and drive up to the last village which is our road-head. We will have a quick lunch before starting the trek or stop after a short half an hour hike to a lake. The first day is relatively short hike through the forests with a variety of trees including rhododendrons. We camp at a small opening between the forests which overlooks the minor ridge of the Balganga range. Overnight Camp
A day we gain considerable altitude, today's trail meanders through the forests with multiple tiny stream crossings and small open meadows. After 3-4hrs, we start climbing beyond the tree line and into the open meadows of Kuch Kalyan where we stop for lunch. A quick traverse through the meadows brings us to our meadow camp which offers brilliant views of snowcapped peaks such as Jaonli, Draupadi ka Daanda, Shrikant and Bandarpunch Massif. Overnight Camp
We start early in the morning to hike through the vast open meadows upto a 3600m high summit, also called Kush Kalyan Top, from where we can see the Bhagirathi valley and snow-capped peaks of Nelong valley apart from even better views of the mountains we could see from the campsite. We enjoy the high moment and start out descent back down to the Shepherd camp. It is a long day but is also the most rewarding and memorable day of the trek. Overnight Camp
We retrace out steps back down to the village from where we started the trek and say our goodbyes. We board the vehicles and drive back to the Dehradun Airport to fly back home. Trip Ends!
