MAX ALTITUDESham trek is one of the easiest treks and the road next to the trail makes it much easier as many tourists feel reluctant to walk on the trail and prefer to drive. Leh and Shey have been the capitals of the historic kingdom of Tibet. But no doubt, trekking is a far better choice than the bumpy drive. The trail starts with centuries old monasteries and later courses through villages. This trek offers a lot in a limited time frame and is perfect for beginners - from the cultural interaction, homestays to the best landscapes. Most of the time you walk on barren land and suddenly the views open with lush green poplar trees. Extensions on the end to Pangong Tso or Nubra valley can be done along this trek as the duration of the trek is less than a week.
