Mohare Danda is one of the high points on a ridge in the southern side of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project. The top of Mohare Danda, standing at 3313m, offers a specacular panorama of over 15 peaks of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna region. In a short duration of one week, you get to everything from walking on open ridges, through desnes forests with a plethora of rhododendron trees which bloom in spring; sunset and sunrise views of the 7th highest mountain in the world - Dhaulagiri, along with a spectaculr panorama of snow-capped peaks, including iconic mountains like Macchapucchare (Fish Tail). We also go to the top of the famous Poon-hill enroute to Mohare Danda.

The tea-houses on this particular trek are all basic as they are quite off the popularly visited trails in Nepal. The food menu is limited, the rooms in these tea-houses are neat and clean but have common toilets.

Please Note: From 2024, we are offering the departure where you can purchase your own food at tea-houses and hence it is not a part of our package. The pricing too reflects this change in offering.

What to expect

A trip graded as a Moderate Trek takes you to high altitude regions - above 3000m / 10,0000ft and will involve considerable altitude gain over the course of the trek. Altitude will have an effect, hence one would need to be careful about acclimatization. Moderate treks will have multiple days which involve considerable amount of ascents and descents and would require walking for more than 6 hours. There might be a day or two of camping in relatively high altitudes above 4000m / 13,000ft. A typical trek will last around a week to ten days depending on the region and is a good step-up for people who have completed a beginner trek. Good fitness level is very much needed to enjoy this trip. Some training up before the trip would help. Prior trekking experience is desirable but not compulsory.

Please Note: The tea-houses on this particular treks are all basic as they are quite off the popularly visited trails in Nepal. The food menu is limited, the rooms in these tea-houses are neat and clean but have common toilets.
